Workshop 6, June 14th 2017
The sixth LAUGH workshop comprised a series of activities designed to engage discussion around playfulness in dementia care.
The LAUGH project recently hosted their final creative event as part of their international design project. At LAUGH goes LIVE! we invited artists, designers, NHS, charities and music therapists to come and try out the prototypes developed for the project over the last year. Although the designs were at prototype stage we were looking for ideas to enhance and extend them through this workshop. During the day we also held creative sessions around crafting and being playful, to engage discussions around playfulness in dementia care.
The workshop was held around Alzheimer’s Society ‘Cupcake Day’. As an icing-breaker we asked workshop participants to decorate a cupcake with a self-portrait. They then used these to introduce themselves to the group.
